Celebration of Successes
At the June 14 board meeting at Todd Middle School, the Spackenkill district held its Celebration of Successes, an annual tribute to those who have made noteworthy contributions to the school community. Board member Fran Pomarico completed his five-year term and was recognized for his hard work. Superintendent Dr. Lois Powell honored staff who are retiring: Marylyn Finck, Linda Meeker, Margaret Banks, Norma Washburn, Bonnie Fulmer, June Sanson, Christine Ansorge, and Lee Riley. Principals from each school praised staff, students, and parents alike for achievements in the arts, academia, athletics, as well as for community service. Among students groups honored were Odyssey of the Mind, Mathcounts, and Science Olympiad team members; NYSSMA and All County participants; Karen Crichton’s Girl Scout troop; Leadership Group at Nassau; and National French Contest, Spelling Bee, Reflection, and National Geography Bee winners. Congratulations to all!
